Adieu !

To “HackinHackout.blogspot.com , TeknicalError.blogspot.com , DynamikLyf.wordpress.com” which served me over a period of last three years.

A small history about my blogging journey ,

Blogging was introduced to me by Robinson.C , CEO – W3CERT Technologies during the mid of 2008 .

“HackinHackout.blogspot.com” was my first blog for a period of 8 months and after that I felt that the name was a little bit lengthy and went for a new name “TeknicalError.blogspot.com” … But this became the biggest drawback , I lost all my traffic but when i again tried to keep my old name , it was hacked by robin .. And again after a period of 2 weeks he offered me the name again but i was not able to choose it due to some internal policies of Blogger.com !

And DynamikLyf was started to blog about my personal stuffs and to learn about wordpress .. and have been working on it for a period of six months .

TeknicalError , gave me new ideas to improve my traffic and I was working on it till the end of 2009 and became a little busier … after a period of 3 months i bought my new domain “www.gopinathan.in” .

That’s all about my journey .. Accompany me on the way back !

Evry engineering student has a “3 idiot” story in his lyf , like i do have !

I would like to go back to the past when i was in my high school .. i had a great friend of mine “Subbhu” . Subbhu always used to be fascinated about cars , games , and some imaginary stuffs which use to be wonderful.Years passed , we were waiting for 12th exam results meanwhile Subbhu was preparing for Amirta entrance exams and i use to visit him in his house often.After a week , i went to Chennai and i stayed there for nearly more than 5 months .I totally lost contact with him but i never known that it could happen , when i went back to his home his parents said that he had joined his college , but i wasn’t still .I tried emails , phone numbers , and tried contacting many of his peer (we both use to be in different sections , i was in XII-k and he was in XII-L) but no use .

Then , Finally i was forced to join a Engineering college which i was ever willing to . I went on a college hunt with my uncle and dad , and managed to get a seat in 5 colleges in Chennai for ECE and IT branches , but all i wanted is to become a “Pilot” or do “Aircraft Maintenance Engineering”. As I come from a middle class family , my dad thought that it would always be a economical problem for him , if i do that and so he never allowed me to do that .Finally I was forced to choose Engineering , in a hatred place where i spent all my life from my schooling to college.

Similarly , Subbu also used to say that he would like to pursue Automobile or Mechanical Engineering in his life which was all his dream that i use to hear from him all the day when we were together in high school.But he was also pushed by his father to take EEE which he did not expect at all.All his friends who were motivated by him joined , mechanical engineering but he never did .And similarly one of close friend is a pilot (You can imagine , how i could have felt then).

Some people can change their selves accordingly but some cannot .I was able to change my mind set but my great friend “Subbhu”,  is still in agony that he was not able to do what he was about to do.I lost his contact two years back and i got it today , I was feeling great that i spoke to him again .I can still remember moments that we were together in the hockey ground during the break  .Waiting to meet him soon , and hoping to the best friends once again.

Wrapping out 2009 ‘n kicking off 2010

phew .. my last post was on sep 22 guys , i was never able to post anything here .Thank god , atleast i’m able to wrap up 2009 and kick off 2010 here.

This year 2009 was such a big year for me , this year makes me to feel proud about myself .I’m patting on my back that i have been to life this year .This year it started happening all along after i went to Tirupathi temple in Andhra Pradesh with my grand  father : I was waiting for 4 rth semester results with my finger’s crossed and with lots of anticipation that something worst would happen .But luckily i cleared my fourth semester .Then my in my life i started seeing some successes apart from lots of failures in my life .

I could still remember the day , I went for a developer conference in my neighbor college which consisted of Mozilla campus rep selection and Microsoft Student Partner selection.We were asked to write a aptitude test there for the preliminary selection.But you know what happened ?

To be frank i used to copy for all the placement tests conducted in my college from one of my friend named Jeyaprabhu , so i did not have any knowledge to write a aptitude .But i wrote , what i felt is right in my mind and again Luckily i got selected in the preliminary out of 150 students present over there and i was among the 40 students who got selected .Then the next round of the selection started , it was a personal interview and group discussion section Lols i had never tried to attend a group discussion in my college even and we never had those type of sessions in placement classes (think about the height of coaching here ) .But some how i managed to clear that round with what i learnt in my high school english (he he he .. ).I thought that the guys would make me a Microsoft Student Partner but never they did , all the process was to give a single referral id ;( !! i was suddenly out of excitement on that day (but i never known what is going to happen).Finally , i registered using that referral and then i got a reply mail to upload a video presentation (again out of excitement ) i don’t have a digicam to do one.I dropped my idea to do a video presentation after asking for digicam from all of my class mates … weeks later the last date got over i got a mail alert and extension of date again for submitting the video again , again searched for a digicam a lot but i did not get one .so removed the idea from my mind totally and out of excitement i wrote a mail to microsoft recruitment team stating my situation .Finally they considered my mail and then again gave me special extension date after going through my profile .Hurray ! this time i never leaved the oppurtunity go out of my hands , i went straight to my pal robin made a video presentation using mobile phone and submitted .After couple of weeks , i got a mail stating that i was selected as a student partner .There goes my beginning of life ….. (kk leave it i will share something else, i don’t wish that u get bored).

I will tell about my prize winning moments , i have been applying many papers from my first year ( i might have sent atleast 30 – 40 papers) but never got selected , since most of the students get their paper selected by recommendations mine doesnt get and i guess most of the good papers suffer the same issue .I atlast understood , that i wont get my paper selected if i follow this .so i asked my cousin brother to select my paper , he did so … i went there and did my presentation and took part in all competitions which was my first initiation in college life to present an idea.I won first prize there .Next following this another prize in Tirunelveli.

Then …. my dad bought a new car , i use to drive the car for him and learnt a lot in driving a car .Apart from this I got invited by Microsoft for attending Tech Vista 2010 for performing well as a student partner by the year end .

Hey i guess i miss something here , its IBM !! This is the most important one for the whole year .I was assigned by my HOD as a volunteer for IBM with one of my fella mate Jomson for marketing about the IBM TGMC contest .This experience gave me better visibility in my college to all second years and third years .I feel like i grow up like a celebrity (porama pudichavangalelam “can exclude this line”).

Stray Dog in second floor of college : Be careful while writing exams ;)

Even though many students get placed in big companies like CTS , Infosys ,Wipro in my college , the college standard is foot cheap . When i say foot cheap i remember an incident that took place in my college recently . Last week i was writing Open Source System internal exams in my class which is in the second floor and people call that block as MBA block . This MBA block is surrounded by a big compound and there is a giant gate even at the entrance of my college.On that fine day , i came usually to college and started doing the last minute preparations for my exams and after preparing for 30 minutes , the exam commenced and i sat on the sitting bench.Meanwhile when a staff entered the hall for supervision , some girls seated at the back bench complained that there was a dog sleeping behind the last bench . Everyone broke out of laughter.I even now wonder how the dog managed to come to fourth floor and find my class specifically .. which would be usually locked in the evening .

Then HOD of Information Technology department arrived at the scene and some more staffs from the near by halls arrived … the lab attender started shaking the bench so that the dog would get up .But the Dog was not even moving an inch even after shaking the bench heavily.Finally HOD prepared for his turn , he came to that place and he started shaking the bench heavily , after 3 repeated shake of the bench , the dog lifted its head up and it again laid down and started sleeping . Everyone broke out of laughter again , then HOD pulled up the bench and finally the “Under Dog” got up and went away . he he he … i wasnt able to control my laughter on that day till i left the college in evening .

department club naming fundas in our coll and my contribution : LOls :D

A week back my friend jaganath and jomson were called up by HOD of our department … he told them that IT department of my college is gonna start a club to encourage extra curricular activities .. which is completely maintained by the students .. he asked us to choose a good technical name for it … on that day evening he conveyed this to me and choose some good names .. but i didnt care much about it at that time , after a span of 3 days time jagaan called me up again and reminded me about the club naming at 10:30 pm before DBMS internals .. !!

Then i started googling for good names which might be suitable for club .. but however since internet is a system with wide thoughts so i wasnt able to figure out the right name for it . After 30 mins i closed the browser , decided to work manually to choose a good name .. then i collected some books from my book rack and went thro’ the glossary of them .. The books were on the domain of networking , programming , Database and internet.After skimming thro’ the pages for 2 hours .. i came across some good names … They were as follows :

Finally, bootstrap was made as the club name and infotellies was added as a subscript after a long request.It was the fruit of my 2 hour hard work

panic is the most important factor which contributed to swine flu … !!

Panic is the most important factor which contributed to the outbreak of “swine flu” … if we look back before 2 years , we had similar types of viruses such as sars ,anthrax (animals) ,bird flu , etc … which nearly took 6 months to spread but for the first time this virus only took 6 weeks to spread all over the world . Some highlights which can describe the serious issue of panic among people are :

In wikipedia , the topic named swine after the outbreak of the virus got edited atleast 119 times per day …. in microblogging site twitter there were 10,000 tweets per day .. imagine the growth of panic among people !!

To have a clearer idea about the virus i would like share some information :

Symptoms of Swine Flu

The symptoms of swine flu are usually like those of regular seasonal flu and include:

• headache
• chills
• cough
• fever
• loss of appetite
• aches
• fatigue
• runny nose
• sneezing
• watery eyes
• throat irritation
• nausea and vomiting
• diarrhea
• in people with chronic conditions, pneumonia may develop

Precautions Against Swine Flu

Good standard flu prevention techniques are recommended to protect yourself against swine flu:

Get a regular seasonal flu vaccination. It might not help against this specific strain, but it won’t hurt.

Wash your hands frequently with soap and hot running water. If hot water is not available, use an alcohol-based hand gel.

When you cough and sneeze, cover your mouth and nose. Wash your hands afterwards.

Avoid being near others who might be sick.

Precautions for Travellers

Robin is my closest pal , my well wisher if i say even more correctly he is my brother … he asked me to design a logo when i started learning ABCs of photoshop using some tutorials available over internet. Frankly speaking i dont have creative sense , im a kind of a person who can present a powerless thing with some power induced in it which is exactly called as re mixing now-a-days.So i first took a 3D image of the letter ‘O’ and combined it with a 2D letter ‘G’ which can be seen below … it was some what professional but lagging in the quality and resolution .. when i showed my first work to Robin .. he said its pros and cons .. i understood the point outs on my mistakes and then stopped the work for a few days ….. after a week when i was free of my college works , i started trying it again … i found a picture with a man with lap in his hands and something like the globe inside his fist emitting blue light . Then i took it and modified its bg then improved its resolution and then worked on its fonts and after trying hard i did this which was the first successful logo of mine (logo used by www.gurusonline.in) :

He simply got style in him … and has got a lot of communication skill .The first movie of madhavan i saw was “Alaipayuthey” for which i went with my parents in madurai .. it was rocking , i still cant forget those scenes in the movie , in which shalini is the heroine and swarnamalya in a lead role … which was a superb love story with a dreamy sequence which also narrates about the later life after love marriage which many of the movie doesnt , directed by maniratnam.

Avatars are important for lyf in different stages

I remember of Living legend Kamal whenever i hear the word “avatars” ….. he has done much contribution to both tamil and hindi film industry , he has introduced many new concepts in film making his film career has given him different dimensions and view points all over .He knows direction , production , he can act as hero , comedian ,villain … no matter what it is .. he can do everything as if in his movie “sakala kala vallavan”.Kamal rocks even at his 50′s.

fed up with my holidays .. ;(

my holidays were filled up with lots and lots of journey …. after being to chennai for visiting lord venkatachalapathy i went to coimbatore for 10 days for inplant training in KGISL …. i spent most of the time in travelling in long distances in coimbatore , everyday i have to get up at 7:00 in the early morning and then travel to saravanampatti village for 1 hour 15 mins and after 2 hours of training i have to travel back to gandhipuram catch a bus to mettupalayam road and travel again for an hour … i felt tiresome a lot but there was no other go to quit it … before 2 days i could return back to erode the climate of coimbatore was very cool .. like what we say as ooty’s starting season (winter) .. and i ended up with cold and fever .. after returning back to erode most of my friends asked me , why i became lean then ever .. i felt bad about it .. this was the worst holidays i ever spent like this …. ;(

usually in holidays i go to meet my old friends , go out to ice cream parlors , play cards , watch movies , keep chatting .. but i missed all this even thought i had semester holidays for 40 days … now im feeling a lot better than before !
